Let's not deny it, all of Google's advertisements for their products have that human touch added to them so well each time it just gives you that warm fuzzy feeling in the stomach. So how about this new product that they have, the Google Chromebook?
It's a web browser, and the emphasis Google is playing on is that it's not a laptop, it's not a computer (or is it? It's a machine that requires algorithm to function, which in short, is what a computer consists of), it doesn't require startup....simply put, it is just a web browser, as everything can be stored on the web...inside this...machine.
Will this mark the beginning of the end of the physical memory storage? Will consumers be confuzzled between holding a physical object and understanding that the web is a non-existent object? (i.e. you can't touch it but you can touch the computer) Where is the fine line between those two?
One thing I'm personally not sure about is the accessibility of the device; Google say its web browser can be used everywhere, but even in places where the data reception (assuming everything will be wirelessly connected, of course) is not good or even not available? What becomes of the Chromebook then?
Check out the Official Google Blog for their official statement on their Google Chromebook.
The lovely Stella Stopfer from :we are micro approached me for an interview as part of their Talent Watch.
It's my first ever interview, so am rather chuffed about that!
